This is the moment a pair of violent thugs pull up in a BMW brandishing 'zombie knives' and attack four people, leaving one man stabbed and a woman brutally assaulted.

Getaway drivers Agandy Anderson, 30, and Kayne Stewart, 27, were jailed for working with the knife men in two separate robberies which happened just five minutes apart.

The two robberies saw three watches worth £1,000 stolen in the City of London just before 3am on September 8, 2024. The attacks left their victims to 'fear' for their 'safety in life', one said in an impact statement.

CCTV captured the first attack on Appold Street.

Two armed thugs leapt out of the BMW at a set of traffic lights and seized upon a group of pedestrians - two men and a woman walking together after a night out.

The gangsters threatened them with what victims described as 'zombie knives' and demanded their watches.

A scuffle ensued which ended with one man being stabbed twice in the buttocks and receiving a wound to the head which bled heavily. The thieves then stole his £400 Citizen watch.

The woman was kicked in the head in the brawl while the other man was put in a headlock and told 'Give me your watch' by one of the assailants. His attacker then took his £200 Bulova watch from his wrist after forcing his head towards the ground.

Getaway driver Kayne Stewart, 27, was jailed for nine years and six months after pleading guilty his part in the violent robberies

A man was stabbed twice in the buttocks and had his £400 Citizen watch stolen in the first robbery, while a woman was kicked in the head and a second man was robbed of his £200 Bulova watch

Police believe a third accomplice, Dogukan Aktas, 26, was the one who stabbed the man, but he has so far escaped custody and was last seen in Switzerland

Meanwhile, another accomplice stayed in the car and drove close to the chaos to serve as a getaway vehicle once the criminals were done.

Police believe a third gang member Dogukan Aktas, 26, was the one to stab the man during the attack, but officers have not managed to detain him.

He was last seen in Switzerland, and detectives have spoken to Interpol to help bring him in for questioning.

Just five minutes after the first hit, CCTV captured the gang striking again, one street over on Curtain Road at the junction of Scrutton Street and Holywell Row.

Two men and two women were getting into their car when a different BMW appeared on the scene.

But once again, the doors flung open on one side of the car and two thugs emerged, brandishing their zombie knives and shouting, 'Give me your watch'.

One victim had his £400 Tissot T-Classic watch stolen aggressively by the robbers, and he was hit in the face. Thankfully, he was only left with minor injuries.

The man who was stabbed in the first robbery said in his victim impact statement: 'My overall feeling is of general fear, for my own safety in life, as well as being fearful of the safety of my loved ones.

'This incident has lifted away a blanket of blissful ignorance and now I really see what the world can be like and what others are capable of.

'I don't trust any random person when I'm out in the street. When someone walks past too closely, if someone is looking at me in a certain way, or has locked eyes with me for more than a second, I am nervous about what they might do.'

Anderson, of no fixed abode, and Stewart, of Milton Way, Dunstable, both pleaded guilty to the two robberies after being identified as the drivers of the two separate vehicles involved in the crimes.

Anderson was sentenced to nine years and six months in prison.

Stewart was sentenced to four years and six months in prison.

Detective Sergeant Amy Westall, of City of London Police, said: 'These were exceptionally violent and frightening attacks in which the offenders showed a complete disregard for the safety of their victims.

The second getaway driver Agandy Anderson, 30, was sentenced to nine years and six months in prison after he pleaded guilty.

Five minutes after the first robbery, thugs sprang out of a second BMW and launched an assault on pedestrians on the street over, demanding their watches with zombie knives

'Armed with knives, they targeted people going about their lives, stabbing one victim and brutally kicking a woman in the head in their determination to steal what they believed was high-value watches.

'Thanks to the courage and swift actions of the victims in reporting these crimes, and the vital evidence they provided, our investigation team was able to piece together exactly what happened. Combined with the City of London's extensive CCTV network, which captured both attacks just minutes apart, we were able to identify the offenders, track them down and ensure they faced justice.

'While two members of this gang have now been sentenced, our work is not over. A third individual has been arrested who is suspected of carrying out the stabbing, remains at large in Europe and was last known to be in Switzerland. We are continuing to pursue all available lines of enquiry and have not given up on bringing him before the courts.'

'The City of London Police is relentless in pursuing those who commit violent crime and to make City streets safer. We will continue to use every tool available to identify offenders, protect the public and make the City a hostile environment for criminals.'
