Russia struck a UNICEF warehouse in the Kyiv region where humanitarian aid intended for Ukrainian children and families affected by the war was being stored.

According to Ukrinform, Ukraine's Parliamentary Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets stated this on Telegram.

"The aggressor state has carried out yet another attack not only against civilian infrastructure, but also against an international humanitarian mission that saves lives every day," Lubinets wrote.

According to the Ombudsman, the strike destroyed more than 106,000 humanitarian aid items worth nearly $3.9 million, including generators, drinking water, hygiene kits, and other critically important emergency supplies.

"UNICEF has long been a partner of the Ombudsman's Office, providing daily assistance to Ukrainian children and families. An attack on a humanitarian warehouse is an attack on those who save lives," Lubinets stressed.

The Ombudsman also noted that Russia continues to kill children and destroy humanitarian infrastructure. According to UNICEF, two children were killed and at least 50 others injured during the past week alone. In June, the highest monthly child death toll since 2022 was recorded, with seven children killed and 116 injured.

As Ukrinform previously reported, a Russian missile attack during the night of July 19 damaged the main distribution center of AMTEL in the Kyiv region. According to preliminary information, a warehouse complex covering more than 100,000 square meters was completely destroyed. The logistics hub handled goods for Ukrainian businesses, medicines, humanitarian aid, and hundreds of thousands of postal shipments.
