A man has been arrested after a woman was fatally stabbed on a street in London, while another has been left hospitalised.
The Metropolitan Police have launched a murder probe following a stabbing in Shepherd's Bush, west London, on Tuesday.
Officers responded to reports of a stabbing at around 8.19am today on Askew Road, where two women, aged 52 and 32, were found with stab wounds.
The 52-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene, despite the best efforts of medical staff.
Her next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.
The 32-year-old woman was taken to hospital, where the severity of her injuries is being assessed. The status of her condition is not yet known.
A man, 48, was arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder at the scene of the incident.
He was taken to hospital as a precaution but later discharged into police custody, where he currently remains.

Detective Inspector Richard MacKenzie, who is leading the investigation, said: 'Our enquiries continue at pace as we work to establish the full circumstances of this deeply tragic incident.
'Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of the victim and injured woman.
'We believe this to be an isolated incident within a residential address, but we know it will cause concern locally. Our officers will remain in the area throughout today.
'We will update the community when we can, and I encourage anyone with any information, CCTV or doorbell camera footage which could support the investigation to contact us.'
