Here's what CNBC TV's producers were watching as the S & P 500 ended a three-day losing streak and what's on the radar for the next session. A deal with Canada If an agreement moves forward, it would make a new round of tariffs threatened against our neighbors to the north melt away like a thin sheet of ice on Wapawekka Lake in Saskatchewan. The iShares MSCI Canada ETF (EWC) is just off Monday's high point. The EWC is up almost 15% in 2026 and up around 32% in a year. EWC 1Y mountain The iShares MSCI Canada ETF (EWC) in the past 12 months Lagarde's European warning Christine Lagarde, president of the European Central Bank, said Wednesday that she saw big problems in Europe that could have a negative impact on the economy due to the possibility of a shrinking American defense umbrella, the changing face of European economic power in terms of global trade, and less access to cheap energy to power manufacturing. Lagarde, one of the most respected voices on the global economy said, "Taken together, these shifts suggest that Europe's post-war growth model is eroding. And it is unlikely to return to the form we once knew." The iShares MSCI Eurozone ETF (EZU) is doing quite well. It hit a high last week. The fund is up 11% in 2026 and up 17% in a year. The iShares MSCI France ETF (EWQ) is off 2.5% from the February high. The iShares MSCI Germany ETF (EWG) is just 1% from the February high. The iShares MSCI United Kingdom ETF (EWU) is off 0.7% from the February high. A lot of the main longer-term bonds in Europe are near 20-year highs. Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong is on " Squawk Box " Thursday. He was in that big tech meeting at the White House on Wednesday. We'll get his take on crypto, as bitcoin closes back in on $70,000. It is up more than 10% so far in August. The Clarity Act, which would be the first major legislation on crypto, will also be on the agenda. Coinbase is up 7% in the past five days, but it's still down 60% from the October high. COIN 5D mountain Coinbase in the past five trading days Meta Platforms California's attorney general Rob Bonta is on "Squawk on the Street" with David Faber, Carl Quintanilla, and Sara Eisen on Thursday morning. The Meta case and the Paramount-Warner Bros. Discovery deal will be high on the agenda. Meta is being sued over alleged harm to children and teens. The stock is down 7.4% so far this week. Shares are down 31% from the September high. Micron on 'Mad Money' with Jim Cramer Micron Technology CEO Sanjay Mehrotra joins Jim Cramer at 6 p.m. Thursday. The stock is down 3.5% so far this week. It is off 25% from the June 25 high. But it is up 228% so far in 2026. MU YTD mountain Micron Technology in 2026 Jobless claims live on 'Squawk Box' The number comes out at 8:30 a.m. Becky Quick, Andrew Ross Sorkin and Joe Kernen will have the numbers and market reaction. The Dow Jones consensus estimate calls for 210,000 initial claims. Jobless claims is a big topic on prediction market Kalshi: Forty-eight percent of people trading the number think it'll be higher than that 210,000 estimate, while 23% think it'll top 215,000. Walmart reports live on 'Squawk Box' Walmart 's quarterly report will be in around 7 a.m. Shares are down almost 15% in three months. WMT 3M mountain Walmart in three months Deere The heavy equipment maker reports in the 6 a.m. hour of "Squawk Box." Deere is up 4% in three months. Shares are 14% from the February high. Alibaba also reports early Thursday morning The stock is down 5% in three months. Alibaba shares are 33% from the October high.
