Samsung is teasing a new entrant to the Galaxy S26 series coming at an event on August 27, but it’s probably not going to be that exciting.
In a brief announcement, Samsung confirms an event scheduled for August 27, roughly a week from now. The virtual-only event takes place at 8am ET / 5am PT and will be livestreamed on YouTube.
Samsung says:
On August 27th, Samsung Electronics will hold ‘Galaxy Event August 2026’ to introduce the newest addition to the Galaxy S26 family — purposefully designed to bring many Galaxy S26 experiences from camera to AI, along with the latest One UI, to those who look for what truly matters most to them.
It sounds intriguing, but we know exactly what to expect.
The Galaxy S26 FE.
The budget-oriented device is expected to adopt an updated design to match the rest of the series, but leaked specs suggest it will be virtually unchanged from last year’s Galaxy S25 FE, which itself was barely changed from the prior generation. A promo image (that Samsung says was at least partially AI-generated) hints at the updated camera module design as well as the light-green color we’ve seen in leaks.
It’s very possible this event could also bring the debut of Galaxy Tab S12 and perhaps some of Samsung’s elusive upcoming Galaxy Buds.
