Malaysians ask Zohran Mamdani to fix potholes in viral meme appeal

Malaysians push for local government action by reaching out to the New York City mayor, who is known for his quick responses

The campaign began after a social media user posted a video of a battered road he frequently uses that caused him to crash, urging Mamdani to help make the thoroughfare passable.

“Mamdani, please help me. There used to be a pothole over there and because of the pothole I was involved in a road accident,” he said, adding that the contractor refused to pay him compensation after the mishap.

“Please help me, Mamdani. Thank you so much, Mamdani,” the user said in the viral video that ended with a spoof “Malaysia Madani” poster featuring the mayor’s face against the Kuala Lumpur skyline.
