According to Ukrinform, this information is contained in a Facebook post by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine regarding the situation as of 8:00 a.m. on August 20.
The enemy carried out 99 airstrikes, dropping 330 guided bombs. In addition, Russian invaders deployed 10,459 kamikaze drones and carried out 3,118 shelling attacks.
The towns of Korenok, Ulanove, Bachivsk, Tovstodubove, Vintorivka, Yastrubshchyna, and Atynske in Sumy region came under artillery fire. In addition, the enemy carried out an airstrike on the Tovstodubove area.
The Defense Forces’ air force, missile forces, and artillery struck one Russian troop concentration area, four drone control centers, and three command and observation posts.
In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, Ukrainian defenders repelled four enemy assaults. The Russian Federation’s army carried out three strikes using eight guided aerial bombs and conducted 72 shelling attacks, including one using multiple launch rocket systems.
In the Southern Slobozhansky direction, Ukrainian units repelled 17 attacks. The invaders attempted to advance in the areas of Starytsia and Lyman, as well as in the directions of Volokhivka, Karaichne, Okhrimivka, and Bochkove.
In the Kupiansk sector, the enemy did not conduct any assault operations.
In the Lyman sector, Russian troops launched 11 attacks in the areas of Zarichne and Lyman, as well as in the directions of Shyikivka, Karpivka, Novoselivka, and Drobysheve.
In the Sloviansk sector, the enemy carried out 19 assaults in the areas of Riznykivka, Ozerny, Kryva Luka, and Zakitne, as well as in the directions of Rai-Oleksandrivka and Mykolaivka.
In the Kramatorsk sector, the invaders attacked four times in the directions of Nykyforivka, Dibrova, and Vasiutynske.
In the Kostiantynivka sector, 24 enemy attacks were recorded. The Russians carried out assaults in the areas of Kostiantynivka, Illinivka, and Ivanopilia, as well as in the directions of Novodmytrivka, Pavlivka, Oleksandro-Shultynoye, and Novoselivka.
In the Pokrovsk sector, the Defense Forces repelled 26 attacks. The enemy was active in the areas of Bilytske, Kotlyne, and Molodetske, and also carried out assaults in the directions of Myrne, Vilne, Kucherove Yar, Hannivka, Matiashove, Svitle, Shevchenko, Vasylivka, Udachne, and Muravka.
In the Oleksandrivka sector, the invaders carried out five attacks in the directions of Voskresenka, Piddubne, Nove Zaporozhzhia, and Rybne.
In the Huliaipole sector, the Russian army attacked 11 times, attempting to advance in the area of Hirky, as well as in the directions of Dobropillia, Vozdvizhivka, Tsvitkove, and Novoselivka.
In the Orikhiv sector, Ukrainian defense forces repelled three Russian attempts to advance toward Stepove, Mali Shcherbaky, and Primorske.
In the Dnipro sector, the enemy did not conduct any assault operations.

In the Volyn and Polissya sectors, no signs of the Russian Federation forming offensive groups were detected.
As reported by Ukrinform, the total combat losses of Russian troops since the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine—from February 24, 2022, to August 20, 2026—amount to approximately 1,472,640 personnel.
