Zelda Bakery

This venue is one of Good Food’s 100 Essential Melbourne Cafes and Bakeries of 2026.

Fun-sized and dynamic, this shop does not stop. Find its window filled with cheese and jalapeno pretzels, sour cream coffee crumble cake, challah sandwiches, babka braided with either chocolate or herbed butter, apple hand pies, spiced bear bostocks, bearclaws ... the list goes on. Decision paralysis is inevitable, a situation not helped by the fact that Zelda opens just two days a week. Our advice? Throw caution to the wind.

Must order: The traditional croissant – a feathery, buttery thing – took out top spot in Good Food’s 2025 blind taste-test.

Good Food reviews are booked anonymously and paid independently. A restaurant can’t pay for a review or inclusion in the Good Food Guide.
