Veteran Malayalam actor Mohanlal on Wednesday (August 18, 2026) announced a list of directors for his upcoming projects on X (formerly Twitter). The superstar was last seen in ‘Thudakkam’, the acting debut of his daughter, Vismaya Mohanlal.

The actor has had an eventful 2026, with Drishyam 3 extending the franchise’s success and Patriot reuniting him with contemporary and close friend Mammootty. Mohanlal’s latest list features filmmakers such as Vishnu Mohan, Anoop Sathyan, Priyadarshan, Dileesh Pothan, Sathyan Anthikad, Jude Anthany Joseph, and Jeethu Joseph.

The Meppadiyan director, Vishnu Mohan, announced Mohanlal’s 367th project in January. The film, produced by Gokulam Gopalan under the banner of Sree Gokulam Productions, marks the director’s third film.

Mohanlal set the ball rolling for his collaboration with Anoop Sathyan on August 18. Produced by Binu George Alexander in association with Aashirvad Cinemas, the project by the Varane Avashyamund director is slated to go on floors this November.

The actor is also slated to appear in veteran director Priyadarshan’s 100th film. He had appeared in the filmmaker’s debut Poochakkoru Mookkuthi in 1984. The combination has produced memorable Malayalam films since then, such as Chithram, Abhimanyu, Boeing Boeing, TP Balagopalan MA, Midhunam, Kaalapani, and Oppam. Priyadarshan’s upcoming film, Haiwaan, will release this September.

In July, the Mohanlal-Dileesh Pothan project was made official. Pothan returns to direction after the acclaimed Joji (2021). Penned by Syam Pushkaran and Paulson Skaria, Nedumkandam Miracle will be produced by Achu Baby John under the banner of John & Mary Creative.

Jude Anthany Joseph is also set to work with the star. Jude’s directorial, Thudakkam, headlined by Vismaya Mohanlal, also featured a cameo appearance by the veteran actor. Mohanlal had shared a picture on social media with Jude earlier this month.

The 66-year-old actor will also appear in a cameo role in Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Khalifa, which hit the screens on August 20. His second collaboration with Tharun Moorthy, Athimanoharam, is likely to release in December 2026. He will also be reprising his role as Mathew in Nelson Dilipkumar’s Jailer 2 starring Rajinikanth. The Tamil movie will release on October 15, 2026.

Sathyan Anthikad and Jeethu Joseph will be reuniting with Mohanlal after HridayapoorvamDrishyam 3, respectively. Details about these films remain under wraps.
