Xperia 10 VIII? Sony schedules an incoming Xperia announcement

Sony’s Xperia 1 VIII has seen a fair amount of success since its launch back in May. According to the brand, there has been strong demand for the flagship smartphone in Japan. Will Sony be able to continue that success with its next Xperia launch? We won’t have to wait long to find out, as a new announcement will happen next week.

Sony has confirmed that a new Xperia product announcement will happen soon. A YouTube stream has been set for August 25, 2026, at 11:00 AM JST. That means fans in the US will be able to tune in on August 24, 2026, at 10:00 PM ET.

Aside from mentioning that this is an Xperia announcement, Sony offers no details about what they plan to reveal. However, the Xperia 10 VIII did stop by the FCC in July. Its appearance in the FCC’s database suggests that a launch is imminent. Given that, it wouldn’t be too wild to assume that this event will probably be for the launch of the Xperia 10 VIII.

Not much is known about the Xperia 10 VIII yet. However, the FCC filing did reveal that the device will retain its 3.5mm headphone jack. It should also support four LTE bands (4, 5, 12, and 41), Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi 6.
