Iran U20s beat Thailand in friendly

TEHRAN - Iran’s U20 football team continued their preparations in Thailand with a 2-0 friendly victory over the host nation on Friday.

The match was played at Chonburi Stadium, with Qasem Hadadifar’s side producing a dominant and well-organized performance to secure the win.

Mohammadmehdi Jannia opened the scoring in the 48th minute before Abolfazl Zadeattar doubled Iran’s advantage in the 71st minute.

The young Iranian side will play another friendly against Iraq on Aug. 25 as part of their ongoing training camp in Thailand.

Following the conclusion of the Thailand camp, Iran will travel to Viet Tri, Vietnam, on Aug. 27 to compete in Group C of the AFC U20 Asian Cup qualifying tournament.

Iran are drawn in Group C along with Vietnam, North Korea and Palestine.

The Persians will start the campaign on Aug. 31 against Palestine.
