LUGANSK, August 21. /TASS/. The Ukrainian armed forces launched strikes on municipalities in the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR), killing one civilian and injuring eight others over the past day, Leonid Pasechnik, the republic’s head, reported on Telegram.
"The enemy has attacked the republic again. Unfortunately, one person was killed and eight were injured, including a minor," he wrote.
According to the regional head, a woman was killed and two other civilians were wounded in the Svatovo district as a result of attacks by the Ukrainian armed forces. In Severodonetsk, three people, including a child, were injured in an attack on a private home. In the Slavyanoserbsky district, a Ukrainian drone struck a locomotive, injuring the assistant engine driver. In Rubezhnoye and Kremennaya, two men were injured as a result of Ukrainian strikes.
Over the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian armed forces also struck vehicles in Lugansk and Kirovsk. Civilian, municipal, and industrial infrastructure facilities were damaged in Stakhanov, Rubezhnoye, Rovenky, and Alchevsk, as well as in the Stanichno-Lugansky, Lutuginsky, Troitsky, and Novopskovsky municipal districts. In four municipalities of the republic, falling debris caused fires in open areas.
"Local authorities and emergency response services are working to address the consequences of the enemy attacks. Investigators from the Russian Investigative Committee’s LPR branch are documenting the crimes committed by neo-Nazis," Pasechnik added.
