Last week, Ariana Grande dominated charts all around the world with her latest album Petal. The set, easily one of the most highly-anticipated pop projects of 2026, was a quick No. 1 in most places, as Grande is counted among the most famous pop musicians in the world.
Unsurprisingly, Petal drops from the highest rung on album rosters almost everywhere this frame, replaced at the summit by different projects in different territories. As Petal begins a slow descent in the United Kingdom, Grande scores another bestselling album – one inextricably tied to her latest full-length.
Ariana Grande Debuts Another Petal Project
Petal - The A Cappellas debuts at No. 44 on the Official Album Downloads chart this week. The U.K. ranking focuses specifically on full-lengths and EPs that are purchased as digital downloads.
The download list is the only roster in the U.K. where the project launches this frame. Petal - The A Cappellas features stripped-down versions of the songs from Grande’s new album and focuses entirely on the vocals, removing the instrumental backing from many of the original recordings.
Ariana Grande Reaches a New Low on One Chart
Petal - The A Cappellas brings Grande to 11 career appearances on the Official Album Downloads chart, but it also establishes a new low for the superstar. The release is her first to miss the top 40 entirely on the downloads-focused tally.
Only two additional Grande releases have failed to crack the top 10. K Bye for Now (SWT Live) debuted at No. 18 in January 2020 and then disappeared. During the final tracking week of 2015, Grande’s Christmas & Chill EP opened at No. 21 on the Official Album Downloads roster and likewise managed only a single frame.
Ariana Grande Has Claimed Four No. 1 Downloads
Grande has racked up eight top 10s on the Official Album Downloads chart, and half of them have climbed all the way to No. 1. That figure grew only a few days ago when Petal launched in the penthouse. Dangerous Woman and Sweetener also spent one frame apiece as the top-selling album download in the U.K., while Thank U, Next managed two turns in charge.
Ariana Grande’s Petal Falls on Six Charts
Petal appears on six U.K. rankings this week, and it drops on every one of them following its healthy debut. The album slips outside the top 10 on only two lists, but holds within that special space on several other rosters. It falls from No. 1 to No. 11 on the Official Vinyl Albums chart and craters 12 spaces to No. 13 on the Official Album Downloads ranking.
Petal manages to remain inside the top 10 on another four rosters: the Official Albums, Official Albums Streaming, Official Albums Sales and Official Physical Albums charts.
Ariana Grande Charts Four Albums in the U.K.
Four Grande albums appear on at least one U.K. ranking this week, and half of them are versions of Petal. Eternal Sunshine is present on four lists and declines on all of them. Grande rounds out her trio of current wins on the Official Physical Albums ranking with Positions, which dips 20 spaces to No. 93 and narrowly hangs on.
Last frame, in addition to Petal debuting at No. 1, several older Grande collections that are beloved by fans to this day rose on various rosters or even managed to return, swept up in the excitement surrounding her latest album. That surge has quieted now, as is to be expected whenever a superstar of Grande’s caliber returns.
