The power utilities in Andhra Pradesh are conducting a common recruitment examination to fill 629 Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) posts from August 23 to 27.
In total 1,05,566 applications have been received for the posts in four disciplines—civil, mechanical, electrical and telecom/electronics.
AP-Transco will have 200 AEE posts filled, followed by APEPDCL with 135 posts and APSPDCL, AP-Genco and APCPDCL with 134, 100 and 60 posts respectively.
AP-Transco Joint Managing Director G. Surya Sai Praveenchand said in a release that a single online application is needed to apply for all five utilities. A consolidated pay of ₹75,000 will be given during the two-year probation, and regular scales after confirmation.
The examination would be held in two sessions—from 9 a.m. to 12 noon and 2.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. on the given dates. It would be a Computer-Based Test and in English medium only. The marks would be in 70:30 ratio (70 technical and 30 non -technical). There will be no negative marks. A total of 94 examinations centres were set up, including 81 in Andhra Pradesh.
Mr. Praveenchand said the utilities have put in place a multi-layered security framework to ensure that the examination is conducted in a fair, transparent manner. Live monitoring will be done from the central Command & Control Centre at Vidyut Soudha in Vijayawada.
