Deputy Commissioner Rahul Pandve visited the Mother and Child Hospital (MCH), located at the site of the old district hospital in Yadgir city, and conducted a thorough inspection on Friday (August 21).

Mr. Pandve interacted with mothers and their attendants to verify whether mandatory facilities were being provided to them at the hospital.

Speaking to the media later, he highlighted several newly established facilities. “A modern labour room designed for safe deliveries. A Special Newborn Care Unit (SNCU) and a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) dedicated to critical child care. New Outpatient Department (OPD) registration counters to ensure faster patient processing. Upgraded drainage systems on specific premises to improve hygiene. A high-capacity power generator to guarantee uninterrupted power during emergency operations are set up,” he said.

The Deputy Commissioner instructed attending officials to execute phased upgrades, including complete drainage renovation, overall building maintenance, improved drinking water and sanitation facilities, the acquisition of necessary medical equipment, and enhanced waiting areas.

Mr. Pandve also emphasised on the need to assess staffing requirements — specifically for doctors and nursing personnel — and to streamline inter-departmental coordination to deliver timely, high-quality healthcare to mothers and children.
