Addressing children’s issues will be the top priority of the government, Minister for Women and Child Development Bindu Krishna said here on Saturday. She was inaugurating the Onam celebration organised by the Department of Women and Child Development for children at Anchalummoodu Children’s Home.
Encouraging the residents to face life’s challenges with courage and confidence, the Minister assured the children that they can bring any problem directly to her attention. She added that all necessary facilities will be provided to nurture their talents, urging them to excel not only in their studies but also in extra-curricular areas such as reading, writing, painting, music, and dance.
The Minister also promised immediate intervention to resolve any deficiencies or inconveniences in the various children’s homes if brought to her notice, noting that children could also write to her directly. District Panchayat President R. Latha Devi, District Collector Annie Jula Thomas, Sub-Judge Rekha Laurel, and State Commission for Protection of Child Rights acting chairperson Sicily Joseph also spoke at the event.
