Gardaí are treating the death of a woman in Limerick city as a murder.
The body of the woman, who was aged in her 30s, was found in an apartment on Lower Cecil Street, Limerick City on Friday morning.
She has been named locally as Brazilian woman Jady Cristine Pereira Rosa, who was in her 30s.
Her body was removed from the scene to the mortuary in University Hospital Limerick, where a postmortem examination was carried out by the State Pathologist.
An Garda Síochána, which is now carrying out a murder investigation, said the results of the postmortem examination were not being released for operational reasons.
A liaison officer has been assigned to support the woman’s family.
The scene remained preserved for a technical examination by the Garda Technical Bureau on Saturday evening.
