RABAT, August 23. /TASS/. Iran is ready not only to strike oil tankers passing through the Strait of Hormuz, but also to attack other oil transportation routes from the Persian Gulf zone, if regional countries join the anti-Iranian sanctions of the United States, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Mohsen Rezaei said.

"We are telling all the neighboring countries not to join the US economic war on Iran, or Tehran will view them as enemies," he was quoted as saying by the Islamic Republic’s state-run broadcaster.

He added that if the neighboring states join the US sanctions, "not a single drop of oil will be shipped from the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz."

In this case, Iran will "view other routes of oil export from the region as its target."

In his words, the Islamic Republic does not want the conflict to spread.

"But if Iran’s neighbors support the US in its economic war, Tehran will damage their interests," Rezaei said.
