Call For Collaboration: Children’s edition
If you have children aged nine to 13 who enjoy exploring Punggol, encourage them to launch a heritage or community project, supported by funding and mentorship.
The Call For Collaboration initiative by the National Heritage Board (NHB) and arts charity OH! Open House invites young minds to respond to the theme, Our Favourite Place In Punggol.
The programme kicks off on Oct 24 and 25 with a boot camp, where children will brainstorm ideas together before forming groups of three to five based on shared interests.
Over the next five months, teams will refine their concepts through regular check-ins with mentors and receive up to $3,000 in funding to bring their vision to life.
The experience culminates in March 2027, when participants present their completed work to the public at a neighbourhood festival.
Beyond the creative process, children will pick up useful skills along the way, such as budget planning, time management and presentation techniques.
Call For Collaboration is part of NHB’s Heritage Activation Node initiative, launched in 2024 to involve communities in celebrating the unique heritage and character of different neighbourhoods.
Registration is free for Singapore citizens and permanent residents, with priority given to children who live, study or are actively involved in Punggol.
To join, submit an online form with a short video of your children sharing their hobbies and favourite place in Punggol. Applications close on Sept 6.

Peppa Pig’s Fun Day Out!
Peppa Pig and her little brother George are returning to Singapore – along with their parents and friends – for a new stage production. Peppa Pig’s Fun Day Out! plays at the Esplanade Theatre on Sept 5 and 6.
The story follows the beloved characters as they head to the zoo and beach for a special party. From feeding penguins and building sandcastles to singing with colourful scarecrows and splashing in the sea, the stage will be packed with lively adventures.
Presented by Spain-based Proactiv Entertainment, the production is adapted from the hit British pre-school animated series.
The 80-minute show encourages children to explore the world around them while empowering them to treat every new step as an adventure.
And if this is your pre-schooler’s first time at the theatre, the cheerful music and familiar characters will help them feel right at home.
The show includes a 20-minute interval, with three performances daily. Tickets range from $28 to $138, and all audience members require a ticket regardless of age.
