Pakistan's army chief Field Marshal Asim Munir is set to visit Tehran on Monday, Iran's foreign ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said on Sunday.
Baghaei said the visit was in continuation of Pakistan's efforts to strengthen peace and security in the region.
This comes after a phone call between Munir and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, in which the pair reportedly discussed the regional situation and ways to revive stalled ceasefire talks.
In a post on X, Iran's foreign ministry said that the two discussed “regional developments and effective ways to strengthen peace, stability and security in West Asia".
The discussions come amid a renewed push to revive talks by mediators Pakistan and Qatar.
