Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre made the announcement during his speech at a ceremony to raise Ukraine’s National Flag, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
The Norwegian Prime Minister said that when speaking about the resilience of Ukrainians, its cost should not be forgotten. He noted that air raid sirens, nights spent in shelters, funerals, and separated families have become a tragic daily reality for millions of Ukrainians.
“Norway's support will continue. Backed by all parties in Parliament. In 2027 we will maintain support at the same level as this year, approximately 9 billion USD. The support is broad: military, humanitarian and financial. It will follow Ukrainian priorities,” Støre said.
He stressed that supporting and rebuilding Ukraine is not simply aid, but an investment in Europe’s own security.
“Later today, Norway and Ukraine will sign a declaration of strategic partnership. It puts our cooperation on a long-term footing. It is a partnership of mutual benefit,” the Prime Minister emphasized.
