Raichur Superintendent of Police Arunangshu Giri has placed four police personnel under suspension in the aftermath of the gruesome rape and murder of a Dalit woman in Hokrani village in the district.

Sources confirmed that the officers were placed under suspension due to dereliction of duty.

During the suspension period, they will face a departmental enquiry. They have asked to abide by standard service rules.

Meanwhile, the police have arrested all the four accused in the case. The accused were produced before a local court which has sent them to judicial custody.
