Andhra Pradesh Teachers Federation (APTF) State president G. Hrudaya Raju on Sunday demanded that the coalition government immediately address the financial and service-related issues of teachers, employees and pensioners, and warned of another agitation if their demands continued to be ignored.

Addressing the APTF Kurnool district executive committee meeting, Mr. Raju said the government had completed two years in office but had failed to resolve the long-pending financial demands of teachers, employees and pensioners. He urged the government to invite employee and teachers’ associations for discussions and resolve their grievances.

Mr. Raju demanded the immediate constitution of the 12th Pay Revision Commission and sanction of 30% interim relief. He also sought payment of pending Dearness Allowance (DA), arrears under the 11th PRC, Earned Leave (EL) encashment dues pending since 2022, five new instalments of DA and payment in cash of DA arrears due to CPS employees.

Referring to the Group of Ministers meeting held on July 22, he said the government should convene a meeting under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister in August and resolve all pending issues. Otherwise, the federation would formulate its next phase of agitation, he warned.

District leaders S. Ismail, Pujari Lakshmaiah and I. Marianandam demanded that the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) requirement be scrapped for in-service teachers and that the pass percentage in current examinations be fixed at 40%, on the lines of departmental tests.

They also demanded that salaries not be linked to the iGOT Karmayogi app, non-teaching duties assigned to teachers be removed, and pending promotions of School Assistants and Headmasters be granted before the implementation of Presidential Orders.

The federation’s State election committee member T.V. Ramakrishna, State councillors G. Srinivasa Reddy and P.V. Seshaiah, additional secretary Govinda Naik, district vice-presidents N. Srinath and Munaaf, and executive committee members Krishna, Narendra, Raju and Rajendra were among those who attended the meeting.
