Tuguegarao City, 24 towns suspend face-to-face classes due to Kiyapo

TUGUEGARAO CITY — Local officials have suspended face-to-face classes in 24 towns and in this city in Cagayan due to Typhoon ‘Kiyapo’ on Friday, July 24, according to disaster response reports.

Classes were suspended from Kindergarten to Grade 12 in private and public schools in the municipalities of Aparri, Buguey, Camalaniugan, Santa Teresita, Santa Ana, Claveria, Sto. Niño, Lasam, and Solana and in Tuguegarao City.

No face-to-face classes at all levels have been imposed in the towns of Alcala, Abulug, Calayan, Baggao, Ballesteros, Pamplona, Peñablanca, Sanchez Mira, Santa Praxedes, Gattaran, Lal-lo, Rizal, Allacapan, Enrile and Gonzaga.

A yellow warning has remained hoisted in Tuguegarao City and in the towns of Abulug, Aparri, Ballesteros, Buguey, Camalaniugan, Claveria, Gonzaga, Sanchez-Mira, Santa Ana, Santa Praxedes, Santa Teresita, and Pamplona in Cagayan due to ‘Kiyapo’ rains and winds.

Signal No. 2 now covers the northern towns in Cagayan and in island-town Calayan and Babuyan in Cagayan while Tuguegarao and the general Isabela areas are under Typhoon Signal No. 1.
