This is the moment a driver swerves past a police car in a chase through London before crashing and 'spinning around' in front of a shopping centre.

Footage, shared to social media, showed a police car drive into the side of the grey Nissan vehicle.

The car appears to stop, and officers step out. But just seconds later the driver mounts the pavement and swerves past in a bid to make a getaway.

The police officers can be seen chasing the car down the street as it speeds away; however, it would be mere moments later that the driver would be stopped.

Meanwhile, the same car was later seen surrounded by seven police vehicles, with its driver's door severely dented.

A video also shows two individuals being apprehended by officers as shocked bystanders look on.

Police officers were alerted to a car which was flagged as having a cloned number plate while patrolling Wandsworth High Street, the force said.

A chase later ensued after a vehicle failed to stop after being signalled to do so by police, and instead reversed into officers.

Witnesses said they saw the Nissan 'spin around' after being hit outside Southside Shopping Centre in south-west London at around midday.
