In the semifinal, Snigur (world No. 54) defeated Czech player Tereza Valentova (No. 63) in straight sets: 7–6 (7–4), 6–3, according to Ukrinform.

The match lasted nearly two hours.

In the other semifinal in Prague, Austria's Lilli Tagger (No. 74) will face Czech player Barbora Krejcikova (No. 26).

For Snigur, this was her second semifinal appearance on the WTA Tour and her first victory at this stage. In February, the Ukrainian reached the semifinals of the tournament in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.
