According to Ukrinform, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported this on Facebook.
“Work to clean up the aftermath of the shelling in the city has been completed. All fires have been extinguished,” the statement reads.
According to final reports, the Russian attack claimed the lives of two people, including a 9-year-old girl. Another 25 people were injured.
Thirty-nine rescue workers and 12 pieces of equipment from the State Emergency Service were deployed to clean up the aftermath and extinguish the fires.
According to a Facebook post by the Office of the Prosecutor General, three children were among the 25 injured.
According to the investigation, on July 26, 2025, at approximately 4:10 p.m., the Russian Armed Forces launched an attack—presumably using Shahed-type rocket-powered UAVs—on one of Chernihiv’s districts.

The attack destroyed a store building, a garage, and vehicles.
As noted by the Office of the Prosecutor General, the number of injured may increase; the information is being verified.
As reported by Ukrinform, on July 26, a Russian drone struck a supermarket in Chernihiv.
July 27 was declared a Day of Mourning in the city.
