According to Ukrinform, the warning was issued on Facebook by Dmytro Lykhovii, Spokesperson for the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"The perpetrators even spent money to purchase a blue verification checkmark for the fake X account of Commander-in-Chief Mykhailo Drapatyi.

"But both the account and its latest post are fake," Lykhovii said.

He urged the public to rely only on verified official sources.

"Officials may change, but the institution remains the same," Lykhovii added.

The General Staff reminded the public that Major General Mykhailo Drapatyi's only official social media accounts are on Facebook, X, and Viber.
