The State Enterprise Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA) stated this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"During the night of July 27, Russia attacked civilian merchant vessels in the ports of the Mykolaiv region. The vessels targeted by enemy fire have remained blocked in Ukrainian ports since the start of the full-scale invasion in 2022 and have not been engaged in commercial voyages," the statement said.

According to the USPA, one person was killed and several others were injured in the attack.

The Administration of Seaports of Ukraine stressed that attacks on vessels that have been unable to leave the blockaded ports for years once again demonstrate the systematic nature of Russia's campaign against Ukraine's maritime sector and pose a direct threat to the lives of civilian seafarers.

Ukraine continues to document these attacks and calls on the international maritime community to respond decisively to Russia's attacks on the civilian merchant fleet.

As previously reported, Russian forces attacked port infrastructure in the Mykolaiv region, damaging three civilian vessels. One person was killed.
