A transgender woman has sued NBCUniversal and Universal Studios, alleging her work hours were slashed after she reported years of harassment, discrimination and unwanted sexual advances by her supervisor.

The lawsuit, filed Wednesday in Los Angeles Superior Court, accuses the entertainment companies of discrimination, harassment, whistleblower retaliation, wrongful termination and intentional infliction of emotional distress. It seeks unspecified compensatory and punitive damages.

An NBCUniversal representative did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

According to the complaint, Nikki Campus was hired in 2010 as a crafts service worker, helping prepare and clean sound stages, move equipment and coordinate with production crews.

Campus says she began transitioning in 2019 and soon became the target of derogatory remarks from co-workers. According to the lawsuit, one colleague described her transition as an "abomination" and urged her to speak with his pastor.

The lawsuit alleges the harassment escalated after a new supervisor took over in 2022.

Campus claims the supervisor made inappropriate comments about her body before allegedly touching her thigh while the pair rode together in a golf cart in 2025. As they got out of the vehicle, the married supervisor allegedly propositioned her for sex, telling her he was "not opposed" to cheating on his wife, according to the complaint.

Campus says she walked away without responding.

The lawsuit alleges the supervisor's behavior changed after she rejected his alleged advance. Campus claims he began criticizing her work, assigning her menial cleaning tasks and falsely accusing her of working too slowly.

She also alleges co-workers told her the supervisor questioned her gender identity and said she should not be using the women's restroom.

Campus says she reported the alleged conduct to management, triggering internal investigations into the supervisor. According to the lawsuit, the supervisor later confronted her, accused her of using his personal broom and told her he could do "anything" he wanted.

The complaint further alleges Campus was denied a promotion to department head in November 2025. The following month, she says her schedule was cut from full-time hours to just a few hours every few weeks in retaliation for her complaints.

Campus says the loss of work left her with financial losses and severe emotional distress. The allegations have not been proven in court, and the defendants have not yet filed a response to the lawsuit.
