Savannah Guthrie has posted a new video asking those responsible for her mother’s unsolved disappearance to “do the right thing” and point her family to their matriarch’s location after nearly six months.

In a new Instagram video posted on Monday, captioned “Bring her home” alongside a yellow heart emoji, the NBC Today host issued an emotional public plea, saying: “It has been months since our mom was taken from us. Our family is in agony. We are in a nightmare that will not end. Nothing about our situation has changed. We have done our part. We will never stop looking for her.”

She continued: “We will always ache for her and feel that hole in our hearts. The world can be a cruel and unforgiving place, and I know that you have tried to do things the right way. So I’m asking you, begging you, to do the right thing now.

“Make the right choice. Help us find her. Tell us where to look for her.”

Guthrie went on to say: “I truly believe it is never too late to do the right thing. Help us bring this situation to an end. For all of us, no matter where we’ve been and what we’ve done, I believe there is always a way home. Please make the right choice.”

Nancy Guthrie, 84, was reported missing from her home in Tucson, Arizona, on 1 February. Authorities believe she was abducted.

Alongside drops of blood discovered on Guthrie’s porch, investigators also recovered DNA from a glove found 2 miles from her home.

The glove appeared to resemble one worn by a suspect seen in surveillance footage from the night of her disappearance. However, the glove was later discredited after it was discovered to have belonged to a restaurant worker, not the abductor involved in the case.

Savannah Guthrie has used her platform as a host of a national television show to raise awareness about her mother’s disappearance, frequently sharing updates and appeals for information.

Her family has also offered a $1m reward for any information leading to their mother being found.

Savannah Guthrie in June posted an Instagram story featuring a painting of Jesus Christ and the words: “Oh my, my soul it cries out, soul, it cries out.”

Guthrie in March had detailed the agony of not knowing where her mother is, telling her former co-host Hoda Kotb in a tearful interview: “Someone needs to do the right thing. We are in agony. We are in agony. It is unbearable.”

The FBI, which has put up an additional $100,000 reward for conclusive information about Nancy Guthrie, is looking for a man approximately 5ft 9in to 5ft 10in tall with an average build.

No arrests had been made as of Monday.
