MOSCOW, July 28. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin has accepted the government's proposal to update the provisions of the agreements on military technical cooperation with Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, according to the presidential resolutions posted on the legal information portal.

The agreement with Kazakhstan was signed on December 24, 2013 and has not been updated ever since. A similar agreement with Uzbekistan was signed on November 29, 2016 and has not been reviewed either.

Issues of military technical cooperation were on the agenda of Putin’s visits to Kazakhstan this May and to Uzbekistan in May 2024.

The existing agreements outline general principles of Russia’s military technical cooperation with Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. They provide for cooperation in a wide range of areas, including supplies of defense-related products, arms repairs and modernization, joint research and joint production, personnel training, and experience exchange.
