Double murder charge as two homes cordoned off on Auckland's North Shore
A man has been charged with two counts of murder and one of attempted murder following overnight incidents on Auckland's North Shore.
He is due to appear in the North Shore District Court this morning.
Hato Hone St John says ambulances attended call outs to two addresses on Lingfield St in Glenfield and Seon Place in Birkdale after 8pm Tuesday.
Police told the New Zealand Herald the incidents were "domestic-related".
"One person is in custody and police are not seeking anyone else in connection with the incident. Police can confirm there are two scenes, and inquiries remain ongoing."
The properties have been cordoned off.
St John told RNZ it responded to the Birkdale address with an ambulance and a critical care unit around 8.25pm and one person was taken to North Shore Hospital in moderate condition.
They were called to the Glenfield address at 8.50pm and were still at the scene shortly before 10pm.
Police have been contacted for comment but are yet to respond.
