Watch: Bodycam captures dramatic rescue of owl trapped in goal net
Police officers came to the rescue of an owl trapped in a goal net, freeing the bird before it takes to the air unharmed.
Officers Steve Vogel and David Orlando were sent to the scene after a call reporting a bird in difficulty on 19 July in Avon, Ohio.
Bodycam footage shows an officer using scissors to cut the owl free from the net after receiving a call about “an owl in need of assistance”.
At one point, one of the officers held the owl down with a brush to prevent it from injuring itself while the other officer worked to free it from the final strands of netting.
Once released, the owl spread its wings and flew clear of the pitch.
