Game Of Thrones and Doctor Who actor Tom Chadbon has died aged 80.

The British actor's death was announced on Monday by publishing company Fantom Events, who he was a client of.

The post read: 'We are sorry to hear the news that Tom Chadbon passed away last weekend.

'Tom was a familiar face to many from his numerous television and film credits, including Doctor Who, James Bond and Game of Thrones.

'He was always a warm and friendly man to work with and we send our condolences to his family at this sad time.'

Tom is also recognised for his appearances in Peep Show and James Bond movie Casino Royale.

Heartfelt tributes have poured in across social media from fans who described him as 'warm and friendly' following his passing.

Actress Lisa Bowerman, who appeared in the BBC show alongside him, penned: 'Oh no… I hadn’t heard. How incredibly sad. He was wonderful.'

Fans added: 'Oh I’m so sorry to hear this. He was a great actor. RIP',

'No way. Lovely person. RIP. 2026 has been the worst year', 'Very sad to read of the passing Tom Chadbon, lovely man, iconic character'.

Tom also had roles in dozens of shows, including Sherlock Holmes, Midsomer Murders, The Bill, Foyle’s War and Where The Heart Is.

High Septon Maynard in HBO series Game Of Thrones was one of the final roles he played before his death.

Tom, originally from Luton, Bedfordshire, first appeared as Duggan in Doctor Who in 1979.
