The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has approved the promotion of 3,592 civil servants following the conclusion of the 2025 promotion exercise conducted by the FCT Civil Service Commission (CSC).
The Chairman of the CSC, Emeka Ezeh, announced the approval on Wednesday, describing it as part of activities marking the third anniversary of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
Mr Ezeh said the promotion exercise was conducted in phases, with senior officers sitting for their examinations between 1 and 3 July 1, while junior staff wrote theirs on 10 July.
He said the gesture reflected the FCT Administration’s commitment to staff welfare in line with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The CSC chairman commended Mr Wike for providing the support that enabled the commission to carry out its statutory responsibilities smoothly and efficiently.
He added that the minister had directed the commission to immediately commence the 2026 promotion exercise to ensure eligible officers are promoted as and when due.
“Under this administration, it is a priority that FCT workers get promoted as and when due,” Mr Ezeh said.
“This is to complement the tremendous work the FCT Minister is doing in the infrastructural development of the territory. The workers will not be left out of the celebrations marking the President’s third anniversary.”
He said the directive was aimed at ensuring that civil servants also benefit from the administration’s achievements as it marks three years in office, alongside the ongoing infrastructural transformation across the territory.
Mr Ezeh commended FCT civil servants for their peaceful and orderly conduct during the 2025 exercise and urged those expected to participate in the 2026 promotion exercise to maintain the same discipline and professionalism.
He also appreciated the leadership of the Joint Union Action Committee (JUAC) for its cooperation, which he said contributed to the successful conduct of the exercise.
Mr Ezeh advised prospective candidates for the 2026 exercise to begin preparations early, noting that promotion in the FCT Civil Service remains merit-based, highly competitive, and subject to the availability of vacancies.
