According to Ukrinform, the Operational Command of the Armed Forces of Poland reported this on the social media platform X.

"Due to the activity of the long-range aviation of the Russian Federation carrying out strikes against Ukrainian territory, an operation involving military aviation has been launched in Polish airspace," the statement said.

The Command said that, in accordance with established procedures, it deployed the necessary forces and assets. Fighter jets and a long-range airborne early warning aircraft were scrambled, while ground-based air defense and radar reconnaissance systems were placed on heightened readiness.

The Command emphasized that the measures were preventive and aimed at protecting Polish airspace, particularly in areas bordering territories threatened by Russian strikes.

According to Wirtualna Polska, air raid sirens sounded in Lublin at around 3:50 local time due to the threat of an air attack. A few minutes later, at 3:59, an all-clear signal was issued.

Lublin Voivodeship Spokesperson Marcin Bubic confirmed to the outlet that the warning was issued based on information received from Poland's Government Security Centre (RCB).

"I can confirm that there was indeed a threat of air strikes. This information came directly from the Government Security Centre. It is reliable and confirmed," Bubic said.

The alert was issued across the entire Lublin Voivodeship, except for the northern counties.

As reported by Ukrinform, the day before in Lublin, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk discussed historical dialogue between the two countries, as well as defense cooperation and the protection of Ukrainian and Polish cities and communities from Russian strikes.
