Nadia Montenegro wants Robin Padilla to enjoy life outside politics
Nadia Montenegro said she continues to support Sen. Robin Padilla, but she hopes he will one day get to enjoy life away from politics.
Montenegro made the remarks during an interview with select reporters at the Maddox Iconic Runway: Diamond Jewelry Fashion Show on Thursday, July 30, in Mandaluyong City when asked if she still backs the senator despite the criticisms he has been receiving.
“Supportado pa rin. Pero kung ako tatanungin, honestly kahit naman sino magtanong sa akin kahit before pa, pag tinanong ako kung anong gusto ko para sa kanya, gusto ko ma-enjoy niya ang life niya outside politics,” she said.

The actress also brushed off the online bashing directed at Padilla, saying he has long been used to public scrutiny.
“Naku, manhid na ’yon sa ganon, sanay na sanay na ’yun. Noong time pa lang nasa office ako ni Sen. Robin, ika nga eh konting kibot lang, trending na,” she said.
Asked whether she would continue supporting Padilla in the 2028 elections, Montenegro said she would always be willing to help him in whatever way she could.
“Anything na makakatulong ako or anything he will need sakin, personal o hindi, nandyan ako para sa kanya,” she said.

However, Montenegro made it clear that she has no plans of returning to work in the senator’s office.
“Hindi ako babalik sa opisina. Kasi wala pa akong ginagawa na ganoon na ako. Ayoko na. Nothing can convince me,” she said.

Last year, Montenegro resigned from her post as political affairs officer in the office of Padilla’s chief of staff after allegations that she had smoked marijuana inside the Senate building.
The seasoned actress shared that she and the senator were able to talk about her resignation during the “Bad Boy 3” screening last June, and now “all is well” between them. /ra
