Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

“Last night, the Russians launched 35 missiles at Ukraine, 27 of which were ballistic, as well as 185 attack drones of various types. The main target was Kyiv. But they also struck the Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Poltava regions,” Zelensky wrote.

According to the President, efforts to address the aftermath of the Russian strike have been underway in Kyiv and the surrounding region since last night. Seven districts in the capital were affected, with 18 residential buildings, a school, the Lithuanian Embassy building, and infrastructure facilities damaged.

Zelensky also noted that only one ballistic missile was shot down last night due to a shortage of interceptor missiles for the Patriot systems.

“It is precisely this shortage of anti-ballistic interceptors that only encourages Russia to carry out such attacks against civilian lives,” he emphasized.

The head of state called on international partners to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense as quickly as possible, stressing that every package of anti-ballistic missile capabilities saves the lives of Ukrainians.

As previously reported, the number of people injured in Kyiv as a result of the overnight Russian attack has risen to 30, including four children. Nine Kyiv residents are currently confirmed dead.
