President Volodymyr Zelensky has awarded state honors to 472 National Guard servicemen, police officers, rescuers, and border guards, 172 of them posthumously.
Relevant Decree No. 625/2026 of July 20 was published on the website of the Head of State, Ukrinform reports.
According to the document, the defenders were honored for personal courage and selflessness shown in defending the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and for conscientious and impeccable service to the Ukrainian people.
The defenders received the Presidential distinction "Cross of Combat Merit," the Orders of Bohdan Khmelnytsky, "For Courage," and Danylo Halytskyi, as well as the medals "For Military Service to Ukraine," "For Impeccable Service," "Defender of the Fatherland," "For Saved Life," and "For Work and Valor."
As Ukrinform reported, President Volodymyr Zelensky awarded two more brigades of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine the honorary distinction "For Courage and Valor."
