Ogie Diaz’s daughter wins bronze award in international cooking contest

Ogie Diaz proudly celebrated his daughter Erin after she won a Bronze Award in the Hamburger Competition at WOFEX Manila’s Philippine Culinary Cup.

Diaz took to his Facebook page over the weekend to celebrate his daughter’s achievement, sharing photos of Erin holding her medal and certificate, as well as a photo of himself joining her onstage during the awarding ceremony.

Recalling his daughter’s reaction after the competition, the showbiz vlogger wrote, “Daddy, finally! Nagka-medal na din ako! Sa school, wala! Dito pa talaga sa competition!”

Diaz said it was a memorable moment for him to accompany Erin onstage as she received her award.

“Grabe! Masaya ang puso ko bilang tatay. Kasi, si Erin naman ang nag-aakyat sa akin sa stage para samahan siyang tanggapin ang Bronze Medal sa sinalihan niyang Hamburger Competition sa WOFEX Manila’s Philippine Culinary Cup,” he wrote.

According to Diaz, more than 1,200 participants from Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Canada, Australia, and Russia competed across various categories and challenges.

The celebrity father also expressed confidence that Erin could aim even higher in future competitions.

“Next year, silver or gold naman ang karirin natin, nak! Hehehe! So proud of you, nak!” he added.

The Philippine Culinary Cup was held as part of WOFEX (World Food Expo) Manila at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City from July 29 to Aug. 1.

Erin represented the restaurant, where she works as a chef. She was mentored by award-winning chef and culinary consultant Chef Boom Jota.

In June, Diaz and his wife Georgette also celebrated the graduation of their second child, Godhie, who finished Medical Technology as a cum laude at the University of Santo Tomas. /edv
