SEOUL, Aug. 3 (Yonhap) -- Kia Corp. said Monday its global sales rose more than 10 percent from a year earlier in July, driven by strong demand for its sport utility vehicle (SUV) lineup.

The South Korean automaker sold 298,037 vehicles worldwide last month, up 13.4 percent from a year earlier.

The Sportage remained Kia's best-selling model with 52,714 units sold, followed by the Seltos with 36,429 units and the K4 compact sedan with 20,789 units.

Overseas sales rose a solid 11.6 percent on-year to 242,556 units in July, while domestic sales soared 21.3 percent to 54,604 units.
