Bulacan Dreamers vie in Softball World Series

CITY OF MALOLOS — The 13-member Bulacan Dreamers Women’s Softball Team is representing the Philippines and the entire Asia-Pacific Region at the 2026 Senior League Softball World Series, which began on Aug. 3 in Delaware, United States.

The team’s 13- to 16-year-old sluggers from San Miguel National High School, Fortunato F. Halili National Agricultural School, and De La Salle University will compete in Pool A of this year’s World Series, according to Benjie Santos, head of the Provincial Government’s Sports Division.

The Bulacan Dreamers left the country on Aug. 1 for the games in Sussex County, Delaware.

The delegation is led by Bulacan Provincial Administrator Antonia Constantino.

Before the World Series, the Bulacan Dreamers competed in and won the 2026 Little League Asia-Pacific and Middle East Tournament in Bogor, West Java, Indonesia, from June 16 to 24, which advanced them to the world stage.

Governor Daniel Fernando on Monday cheered them on.

“While we are very happy and proud of the reigns and victories of Filipino players Alex Eala, EJ Obiena, Carlos Yulo, Manny Pacquiao, and several more on the international arena, we also similarly carry the pride that our very own Bulacan athletes share the same on the international field of sports. I send them my sincerest prayer and hope that they will also wave the Philippine flag before the world,” Fernando said.

Santos said the delegation is expected back home on Aug. 11. /mcm
