Donald Trump appeared to place himself in the same league as former presidents George Washington and Abraham Lincoln after sharing a fake image of the three of them on Truth Social.
The bizarre image is the latest in a slew of post by Trump, 80, and follows a weekend where he compared himself to Elvis Presley and claimed he is aging “in reverse.”
In the image, Trump, Washington and Lincoln are signing what appears to be a map of the United States with quill pens. The president posted the picture Sunday evening without comment.
The image was seized upon by MAGA faithful who reshared it on X, celebrating “three American legends.”
But others on the platform replaced the figures of Washington and Lincoln with the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein to mock the president about the scandal that has dogged his second term. Another post on X used it to depict Trump as a clown, while one critic described the president’s post as “deranged.”
Trump has previously claimed that pollsters once told him he was more popular than two of the most revered figures in American history.
“They said, ‘Sir, if Abraham Lincoln and George Washington came back from the dead, they couldn’t beat you,’” he claimed.
Between Saturday and Sunday, the president posted approximately 40 times on Truth Social, much of it consisting of fake images, flattering articles and photos that stroked his ego.
The president, who has just turned 80, shared an image of himself captioned, “President Trump ages in reverse!”
Another image showed the present-day Trump sat around a table with his younger self. Gazing longingly at the younger Trump, the post was captioned: “Same guy. Even more energy now!”
The majority of the president’s weekend content was a collage of videos and photos that heighten his ego.
One post depicted him as a dynamic leader of Revolutionary War troops, while another image showed Trump kissing Jesus on a cross.
Another showed Trump overlooking Greenland – alluding to the president’s desire for the U.S. to take over Greenland despite pushback from both Greenlandic and Danish officials.
White House aides occasionally assist the president in posting on Truth Social, including Natalie Harp, who has access to Trump’s account and shares clusters of posts with his approval, the New York Times reported.
