Roads and Buildings (R&B) Minister B.C. Janardhan Reddy said that he was ready for a debate on the development he achieved in any village of his constituency during his seven years as an MLA, compared to the 10-year rule of YSR Congress Party’s former MLA, Katasani Rami Reddy.

Mr. Janardhan Reddy on Monday distributed pattadar passbooks to 575 beneficiaries in Pottipadu village of Banaganapalle constituency. Addressing the gathering of villagers, Mr. Janardhan Reddy said that CC roads were constructed in the village at a cost of ₹50 lakh between 2014 and 2019, and that CC roads are being constructed at a cost of ₹35 lakh at present.

“We are providing approximately ₹66 lakhs to the beneficiaries in the village through the ‘Thalliki Vandanam’ scheme. We have also constructed a bridge in the village at a cost of ₹2 crores,” he said.

Responding to the challenge by former MLA Katasani Rami Reddy to resign and contest again as an independent against him, Mr. Janardhan Reddy said that in a democracy, no one can demand that others resign and contest again. “Have you forgotten how people rejected you in the last election? Let us see who the people will bless in the 2029 elections,” the Minister said.

Mr. Janardhan Reddy said that while they wanted peaceful atmosphere to prevail, the YSRCP leaders were trying to vitiate it. He said that HRD Minister Nara Lokesh had brought revolutionary reforms to the education sector, and providing mid-day meals with fine quality rice was one of them.

Later, the Minister participated in the ‘Intintiki Telugu Desam Party’ programme in the village alongside TDP leaders and members, highlighting two years of trust, development, and welfare. The Minister went door-to-door distributing leaflets detailing the achievements of the alliance government over the past two years.

The Minister personally explained the benefits of welfare and development initiatives provided by the alliance government to the public. He listened to the grievances of local residents and assured them that their issues would be resolved.
