At the Supreme Commander-in-Chief’s Headquarters, combat corps commanders, weapons manufacturers, and government officials discussed the front’s needs, as well as supplies and procurement for the troops, face-to-face for the first time.

Volodymyr Zelensky announced this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

“Today, following several days of discussions with the commanders of our corps, who are carrying out the most critical combat missions, I held a special meeting at the Headquarters. For the first time, there was direct, face-to-face communication between our major weapons and equipment manufacturers and the corps commanders who actually use the products, as well as with Ukraine’s Ministries of Defense and Finance and our country’s main special services,” the head of state said.

According to him, the meeting at the General Staff was attended by the commander of the Airborne Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the commanders of the 10th, 11th, and 19th Army Corps, “Khartiya,” “Azov,” and representatives of “the rising stars of the new Ukrainian defense sector.”

Zelensky noted that most of the issues discussed were practical—concerning actual combat needs, bottlenecks in supply, unresolved procurement issues, necessary additional funding, and supply contracts: drones of all types and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), long-range artillery shells—which are needed in virtually every area of intense combat operations—and other equipment.

“We agreed to establish a regular format for this type of communication between corps, manufacturers, and government agencies, coordinated by the Ministry of Defense and the National Security and Defense Council,” the President noted.

They also discussed specific metrics regarding product defects identified at the operational level within combat units.

“It is important for manufacturers to hear this feedback and promptly address what needs to be corrected. I have scheduled meetings for tomorrow with other corps commanders as well: we need feedback from our entire corps system within the Ukrainian Defense Forces,” Zelenskyy emphasized.

He stated that he would continue to determine “what adjustments should be made to Ukraine’s defense strategy, and which priorities in production and supply to the troops must be implemented as quickly as possible.”

“There are many issues regarding air defense and, accordingly, tasks for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and our diplomacy as a whole,” the President added.

The head of state thanked the meeting participants for their openness, sincerity, and substantive contributions. “Ukraine must enter August as strong as possible and prepare for various scenarios regarding Russia’s actions and behavior this fall,” he stressed.

As reported, today the head of state held meetings with Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Volodymyr Horbatyuk, Commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykhailo Drapaty, Commander of the 3rd Army Corps Andrii Biletsky, Commander of the National Guard’s 2nd Corps “Charter” Ihor Obolensky, Commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Airborne Assault Troops Oleh Apostol, and Commander of the National Guard’s 1st Corps “Azov” Denys Prokopenko.
