Ukrainian marines have, for the first time, used FPV drones launched from unmanned surface vessels (USVs) to strike Russian military positions near Zaliznyi Port in the temporarily occupied part of Kherson region.
The press service of the 40th Separate Marine Brigade stated this on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.
The military said that during the operation targeting Russian positions, the Barracuda unmanned surface vessels came under enemy fire. One of the vessels was lost after Russian forces struck it with four Lancet loitering munitions.
"The remaining vessels reached the launch point for the strike drones. Following additional reconnaissance, FPV drones were launched into the air and, for the first time, struck enemy logistics, concealed positions, and personnel in the area of Zaliznyi Port in Kherson region," the brigade's press service said.
