WhatsApp announces Apple Music sharing, iPad signups, and more
Today alongside debuting Adobe Acrobat integration for PDFs, WhatsApp has announced a few other new and recent additions.
One new feature lets you share what you’re listening to in Apple Music or Spotify directly to your WhatsApp Status. From the blog post:
Share what you’re listening to: Sharing music is a way of expressing yourself, and now you can easily share a song straight from Apple Music or Spotify to your WhatsApp Status. With just a couple of taps, your friends can see what you’re into right now, making your Status even more uniquely you.
We first saw evidence that this feature was in the works back in November, but WhatsApp says it has now officially rolled out.
Another new change is that iPad users can sign up for a WhatsApp account directly on the iPad, without needing a phone number. Per today’s announcement, this was a popular feature request after WhatsApp’s iPad app first launched.
Finally, WhatsApp’s post also highlights the recently upgraded CarPlay app that lets users do a lot more than they could before.
Which of these WhatsApp additions are most exciting to you? Let us know in the comments.
