The Srisailam temple management will perform the Varuna Yaga Sahitha Sahasra Ghatabhishekam to propitiate the rain god from August 7 to 11.

Priests will perform the Varuna Yagam, along with the Paanchahnika Deeksha and Sahasra Ghatabhishekam for Lord Mallikarjuna, while special pujas will be performed for Goddess Bhramaramba. Rudra Homam, Varuna Sukta parayanams, Varuna japam and other rituals will be performed.

Temple board chairman P. Ramesh Naidu and Executive Officer M. Srinivasa Rao have invited devotees to take part in large numbers. On August 10, rituals will be performed for the Krishna, and abhishekams for Nandeeswara Swamy, the village deity Ankalamma and Bayalu Veerabhadra Swamy. The Purnahuti will be performed on August 11.

In view of the rituals and the expected rush of devotees, certain Arjita Sevas, specifically the Ganapati Homam, Rudra Homam, Mrityunjaya Homam and Chandi Homam, and the rituals performed at the shrine of Lord Vruddha Mallikarjuna Swamy, will be suspended from August 9 to 11.

Sparsha Darshan of the presiding deity will be suspended on August 9 and 10. On August 11, it will not be available during the morning and afternoon hours. As August 9 and 10 fall on a Saturday and a Sunday, the Garbhalaya Abhishekam and Samuhika Abhishekam will not be performed.
