CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — A routine checkpoint turned into a million-peso contraband bust after joint security forces intercepted a truck carrying P2.65 million worth of alleged illegal mineral ores in Barangay Taguitic, Kapatagan, Lanao del Norte on Thursday. Police and military personnel flagged down a red-and-white Fuso wing van traveling from Zamboanga del Sur bound for this city. The driver, identified only as alias “Kuya Boy,” 31, a resident of Tangub City, Misamis Occidental, failed to present the vehicle’s Certificate of Registration.
